There will likely be a second group of Indians deported by the Trump administration on February 15. A US plane carrying 119 illegal immigrants is expected to land at Amritsar airport, the result of a crackdown that ended last month.

According to official sources, the plane is expected to land at the airport around 10 pm on Saturday.

The 119 illegal Indian immigrants were said to be from the following states: Punjab (67), Haryana (33), Gujarat (8), Uttar Pradesh (3), Goa (2), Maharashtra (2), and Rajasthan (1). Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir each had one in the group.

Another US plane carrying deportees is also expected to land on February 16.

A US military plane carrying 104 illegal Indian immigrants landed at the Amritsar airport last week, just a few days before this happened. Their numbers were as follows: 33 from Haryana, 33 from Gujarat, and 30 from Punjab.

Many of the people who were deported from Punjab said they wanted to move to the US to give their families a better life. But their hopes were dashed when they were caught at the US border and chained up and taken back.

After Donald Trump became president, the US’s police started cracking down on people who are in the country illegally.

Thousands of people from Punjab and other states who came to the US through “donkey routes” or other illegal means and paid lakhs of rupees to do so are now facing deportation.

There were concerns from some political leaders in Punjab about the US plane landing in Amritsar.

The Central government, which is run by the BJP, wants to blame Punjab for bad things. Why does it not land in Gujarat, Haryana or Delhi?”Punjab Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema said on Thursday in response to a question about the likely arrival of another US plane carrying illegal immigrants.

It is worth mentioning that the Punjab government just recently put together a special investigation team to look into the problem of illegal human trafficking after Indian citizens who lived in Punjab were sent back to India from the US.

A senior police official said that the SIT has yet to file 10 FIRs against fake immigration consultants based on the accounts of people who were deported.
