As noted by a police representative, the Maharashtra Cyber Department lodged an FIR against the reality show on YouTube, ‘India’s Got Latent,’ because of the backlash surrounding social media personality Ranveer Allahbadia’s crass remarks.
This took place on Tuesday. Allahbadia came under fire for his insensitive remarks on the show, prompting the cyber cell to register the FIR on their own, said the official.
The cyber cell is in the process of issuing summons to around 30 participants who have taken part from the very first episode until now. The cyber cell has put this matter under the appropriate provisions of the IT Act and requested the removal of all 18 episodes of the comedy series.
The Cyber Department noted that guests and other people associated with the program, which includes participants and other associates of the show, were captured employing “vulgar and obscene” speech. He went on to explain that the department has compiled a list of such people, including judges of the show and guests.
Following Allahbadia’s remarks, numerous grievances were lodged in Mumbai against him and other known social media faces linked to the program, which includes Mukhija and stand-up comedian Samay Raina, for purportedly employing “abusive words.” Leading social media influencers, including Ashish Chanchlani, Jaspreet Singh, and Mukhija, had made an appearance on one of the episodes of Raina’s show with Allahbadia.
